Recently I was given the opportunity to try out a piece of essential oil jewelry from Essential Charms, a company that sells products to help you experience the benefits of wearing essential oils on your body through pieces of jewelry.
I selected the necklace called “fragrant blooms” as it was simple and pretty. It came with my choice of lava stone, which basically soaks up the essential oil and then sits inside the little silver “case” around it.
I had seen these kinds of things for years and a lot of times they were not of a design that I was attracted to… they looked a little gaudy or were of some kind of pattern I did not really care for. But when I browsed through Essential Charms’ selection of jewelry, I found that I was attracted to most everything they offered. I’m always on the lookout too for the integrity of the company I purchase things from, or promote. I was happy to learn that Essential Charms is a husband and wife owned company, based in the US. The small company designs all the jewelry themselves.
I’ve been wearing my necklace now on and off for a couple of months and have finally gotten around to writing about it. I have found that I like the style of the necklace very much and not only do I like having the gentle scent of my favorite oil on me throughout the day, but my kids will come up and smell it and enjoy it as well. So far I’ve only used things like Sweet Oasis or Lavender from my favorite oil company Rocky Mountain Oils, but I am planning to also use my necklace to ward off mosquitoes and gnats with their Bug Away, Cedarwood or Geranium. I think this will be another great use for this type of jewelry!
Do you wear your EOs on any type of jewelry? I was originally drawn to the necklace, but I am now quite interested in the earrings because they are pretty cute, plus, if I put some of the oils that repel gnats and mosquitoes on the earrings, I would imagine that would be a great way to deter them from my neck and face! I think I just talked myself into a new piece of jewelry! Thanks to Essential Charms for this opportunity to try something new!
I think I may even play with this stuff! I haven’t made play dough for my kids in ages, but seeing this pic and thinking of the yummy smelling essential oils I have from Rocky Mountain Oils may inspire me to make this today, since it’s only 9 degrees out right now, on April 5…. good grief! If you try this, let me know how it turns out for you, and which oil(s) you used! Click here for the recipe.
Starting to prep for the fall and winter “sickie seasons” by restocking some of my favorite oils from Rocky Mountain Oils. One of the top oil blends I like is Immune Strength, which we use on the kids’ feet and diffused in the air if we start getting ill.
They have some new fall scents out that sound like they would smell wonderful running through our diffuser at home. Check them out here!

But I’m interested in it as a bug repellent! Read more ….
Nice article outlining uses for various essential oils…
Rocky Mountain Oils posted an article about the best oils to use to help combat a variety of pesty bugs and ticks. We have Bug Off as well as a variety of other oils such as geranium and thyme that I have mixed in a spray bottle. The kids like it if I add a little bit of vanilla as well. So far so good! Check out their website here.
Rocky Mountain Oils is offering a great Mother’s Day Sale but only for a few days! The sale started on the 3rd, and ends on the 5th. Check out the great oil sets and individual oils on sale here. I just got “Unwind” and love it… it’s a wonderful combination of all my favorite scents, including vanilla.
I’ve recently been drawn to Rocky Mountain Oils after reading up on the company itself, and reading some research done by folks who spent their time researching EO companies, using the same kind of criteria I would have if I had the time and energy to do so! In the end, it seems that RMO and I will be a good match. With that said, I have just ordered a new diffuser for our home, and their “Bug Off” EO for the kids. I also just noticed they have a Kid’s Kit of several oils diluted properly for use in a roller ball dispenser on children, and it’s on sale right now…
Just saw this great post by Mommypotamus for a hydrating skin repair serum, using only rosehip seed oil and an additional essential oil. I didn’t know it but rosehip seed oil apparently “promotes collagen production, hydrates and plumps skin, helps to even skin tone and fade brown spots, supports scar healing (including stretch marks), and soothes eczema and psoriasis”. Since I’m currently dealing with what I believe is “hard water dermatitis” and suffering from severe excema on my hands, I am all for anything that might promote my skin returning to normal! I’m going to give this a try! (and the water softener for our very hard well water has been ordered!). Check out her recipe here.
